April 1st, 2003 byLeading a straight edge life in America isn’t a piece of cake. It’s hard, lonely, painfully isolated, angry, and, ultimately, worth every single moment of self doubt that may come from truly being one of a kind.
I ask myself everyday what it means to be an individual. It means being alone. By choice. And it means being strong enough to live, and learn to thrive with that choice, no matter what. I’ve been Straight-Edge my entire life.
I turned 28 today. April 1, 2003. I think that’s worth talking about. 28 eight years of Straight Edge philosophy and action. This strange and paradox filled philosophy I’ve been following deserves some reflection. Because, well… because it’s the only thing that’s been with me from the beginning. It’s shaped me and my actions more than any other single thing. It’s influenced everyone around me either directly or indirectly. It’s changed the course of my life more than once, and it’s taught me about moderation. I could go on for hours but I have to work in the morning and I want to take the time to make this site fairly focused.
Expect daily updates. Expect photos. You’ll know what I’m up to and I’ll be checking the logs for what you are up to. Thanks for visiting my site.
